When we can’t be together in person, it’s important we still come together in prayer and reflection. Watch the latest video podcast from the SPH Chaplaincy Team to give you something to think about, a reflection based on the Bible and some helpful tips on how to pray on your own at home!
" In the day that God created man, He made him in His own likeness." - Genesis 5:1
This year we are focusing our prayers and times of reflection on the theme "In His Image". This can mean a whole host of things which we will unpack properly as the year goes on. The first thing this teaches us though is that God created us, and God loves us. He loves humanity more than any of the rest of created because we are made in His image. We are made to love and to create just like He Himself IS love and IS the Creator. Thank God today for making you, for making your friends and family, for caring enough about each and every one of us that he knows how many hairs are on your head. Thank God for your creation, and be thankful for you life.
Father God we thank you for our life and our breath. We thank You for loving us and caring for us like a father. We pray that we may be able to respect ourselves and each other, and to show ourselves and others the love that you have for us through our thoughts, words and actions. We ask this, as ever, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
